So I put my summer tires back on the FoST Saturday. On my way home from my chums, I got a TPMS fault. They where re paired when put on, could it be a dead TPMS?

Could be, but it probably just didn’t take. I’ve had that issue multiple times. Always been able to resolve it by driving until TPMS came on and then stopping somewhere far away from where my winter tires were stored (so it wouldn't errantly pick up their signal) and re-pairing.

I have tried that a few times, and my tires are stored in a different town too, followed the procedure for the car and it didn’t seem to work. I may just bring it in to the dealer and hope the warranty covers it.

You're using the Ford TPMS tool no? I haven't successfully retrained with any of the non-tool 'procedures' that are out there floating around in the internet ether. If you do and it isn't clearing you're probably SOL.

stupid suggestion but did you air them up after you installed? could mean your tire is low but everyone assumed tpms are broken when they go off lol

I’ve just accepted that the light is on.

I’m not sure about Ford, but with Subaru, a TPMS fault presents differently than a low tire pressure. It’s worth a shot checking the tire pressure though, just in case.

I have a focus. the tire error just shows up as an illuminated I logo on the dash

They are just idiot lights anyways, Ill check my pressure at every fill up usually.

Need to be paired to the vehicle or one or more tpms is el deado. Hopefully that’s all. Welcome to ford electrical components.

Once seen a remote start not work on a brand new edge because of a bad tpms receiver.
